Mohanlal confirms ‘Barroz’ as his final directorial venture, reveals approaching Hans Zimmer for music

Expectations are soaring as there are only days left for Mohanlal’s directorial debut film ‘Barroz’ to hit the big screens. Recently the legendary actor revealed that he will not be taking up any directorial ventures after ‘Barroz’.

Talking to Galatta Plus, Mohanlal said that ‘Barroz’ will be his first and last directorial venture. He also revealed the reason behind directing the movie. Mohanlal said that his original idea was to direct a 3D film which will require no 3D glasses to view the movie.



Mohanlal said that generally people say that they get a headache after watching a 3D film and this was not the case with ‘Barroz’ which had a preview show recently. Mohanlal dropped the initial idea of making a 3D movie that required no 3D glasses for viewing, as it was costly. Saying that he loves the idea of doing impossible things, Mohanlal decided to direct the 3D film ‘Barroz’ and for the legendary actor ‘Everything fell in the right place for the movie’.


The actor also revealed an interesting trivia where the team of ‘Barroz’ contacted the veteran Hollywood music composer Hans Zimmer to compose the music for his directorial debut. Mohanlal wrote a letter to the ‘Interstellar’ music composer asking him whether he could work on the project. Hans Zimmer replied by saying that he didn’t have enough time to take up the project.


Surprisingly, Hans Zimmer’s team has contributed to the soundtrack of ‘Barroz’ and also some of the legendary musician’s musical players are part of the movie.


‘Barroz’ is all set to grace the big screens on December 25.


On the other hand, Unni Mukundan’s ‘Marco’ has literally stolen the spotlight. The movie is receiving highly positive reviews and is also minting good numbers at the box office.
