on his 12th death anniversary. Bharath Gopi, a National Award-winning actor, is regarded as the best performers Mollywood ever had. Mohanlal remembered Bharath Gopi by sharing a picture of the actor. The duo has teamed up for a bunch of movies in the past including 'Ente Mamattukkuttiyammakku' and 'Rasathanthram'.

While Mohanlal remembered the actor with a picture, Prithviraj Sukumaran wrote a personal note for the actor. Prithviraj, who recently stepped into filmmaking with ‘
Lucifer
’, had teamed up with Bharath Gopi’s son Murali for the script. So, the bond is truly special. ‘Lucifer’ became a top-grossing Malayalam movie and Prithviraj and Murali are planning its sequel, which is titled ‘Empuraan’. On the 12th death anniversary of Bharath Gopi, Prithviraj has dedicated his upcoming directorial to the veteran actor. In an emotional note, Prithviraj wrote, “One of the greatest actors to have lived. Little did I know during the times we met, that his son and I would grow up to forge a bond not just as brothers..but as a writer and director too. #Empuraan is for you uncle! #Legend.”

Beginning his career as a theatre actor, Bharath Gopi soon fetched a role in ace filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan's directorial 'Swayamvaram'. Although Gopi wasn't the lead, the filmmaker noticed his performance and cast him as the lead in his next, 'Kodiyettam'. The movie bagged a lot of awards including the National and State awards for the best actor. 'Kallan Pavitharan', Yavanika', 'Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku', 'Panchavadi Palam' and 'Adaminte Vaariyellu' are some of his popular movies. He has also directed a few movies like ‘Ulsavapittennu’ and ‘Yamanam’. The actor passed away on January 29, 2008, following a cardiac arrest.
