Mohanlal and Meena had a sizzling chemistry in their last outing Drishyam, which was partly responsible for the overall success of the film. It looks like the magic will repeat, in Vellimoonga director
Jibu Jacob’s next project, which has already been announced to have Mohanlal in the lead. The scriptwriter of the film, Sindhuraj, confirms that Meena will be playing Mohanlal’s wife in the film.
“Meena’s character is of prime importance to the film, as the story revolves around the relationship between a husband and wife. Both roles are of equal importance,” he says. The story has been loosely inspired from a Malayalam short story by VJ James, titled Pranayopanishadh, he reveals. “While Mohanlal plays a panchayat secretary, named Ulahannan; Meena’s character is called Aniyamma. They have two children, the casting of which is still going on. The story takes place in the present, and will be a family entertainer,” he says. And when will the film take off? “As soon as Mohanlal gets done with his current projects, one by Priyadarshan and Pulimurugan,” he says.
