The movie also has a handful of other major female characters, says director Kannan Thamarakkulam, as he tells us about the roles of Joseph fame actress Madhuri, Anu Mol and Parvati Nambiar.
“Miya plays a new-age woman, who is a TV show host in Thiruvananthapuram. She is a celebrity, and the character’s name is Tanuja Varma. She sports a modern look,” the director says. Meanwhile, Sheelu Abraham’s character is a tea shop owner. “Her name is Vineetha and her family was quite well-off in the past, though not anymore,” he says.

Anu Mol plays a collector named Fida Fathima who hails from a village. “She is given a naadan look. Fida is a positive figure who doesn’t shy away from strong reactions when necessary.” Madhuri and Parvati Nambiar are also women who have the ideas of revolution in their minds, the director reveals.

Interestingly, the film starts with the predicament of Pattabhiraman, a government employee, who lands in Thiruvananthapuram after his 48th transfer. “The movie is a social drama that shows how he witnesses corruption by big establishments all around him and deals with them using the power he has,” Kannan says. The movie is expected to have an Onam release on September 20.
