#MeToo movement: Actor Vinayakan gets called out for sexual harassment

After being targeted for anti-BJP quip, actor Vinayakan gets accused of asking sexual favours. Social activist and poet, Mruduladevi Sasidharan recently made strong allegations against the award-winning actor, accusing him of asking sexual favours. The activist took to her social media handle and said that actor Vinayakan asked her for sexual favours on the phone, while inviting for a function.She also added that she cannot support the ongoing racist uproar against the actor, as she fights against it.
Taking to social media handle, Mrudhula wrote, "I respected the Vinayakan who stood with the actress(actress abduction and assault case Feb 2017). But it has discerned that the actor has misogynistic views in real life. While inviting for a programme, Vinayakan asked me if I could sleep with him. He also said that he is expecting my mother too. I don't respect this Vinayakan. I have the call recorder for that. I'll watch 'Thottappan.' But I won't support the trend of affronting him with casteist and racistic comments. I have always stood against such casteist remarks. I stand for the Vinayakan who is being targeted by the casteist and racial slurs. But I don't stand for the Vinayakan who treats woman's body as a commodity. "

Actor Vinayakan was recently targeted by netizens for making anti-BJP comments. While speaking about his upcoming project 'Thottappan' in an interview, the actor shared his happiness for the results of Loksabha election in Kerala. He said that he was happy for the results, as Kerala didn't let BJP win a seat. He also added his concern for Left party, however, said that he is happy about the result. This made the supporters of BJP go insane and Vinayakan was targeted for cyber bullying using the actor's caste and race as a weapon.
