Raconteur filmmaker Mani Ratnam is turning 66 today and several fans and celebrities are showering birthday wishes for the maestro. Actress Meera Jasmine, who has played a major role in Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ reminisced of her shoot days for the Suriya starrer and penned a heartwarming birthday wish for the veteran filmmaker.

Actress Meera Jasmine, who has played a major role in Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ reminisced of her shoot days for the Suriya starrer and penned a heartwarming birthday wish for the veteran filmmaker.

Meera Jasmine took to her official Instagram handle and shared a BTS click with the legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam and penned a note saying that it's one of the precious memories that she cherishes in her life.

‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ is a political action thriller movie that follows the lives of three men and their accidental meeting on Napier Bridge which changes their lives forever. Meera Jasmine played the role of the wife of Madhavan’s thug character in the film and the actress got much adulation for flawlessly performing her role which has indeed gained the tag as one of the most underrated performances in Mani Ratnam’s films.

The film ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ was released in 2004. Helmed by Mani Ratnam, the film had a casting coup of sorts. Actors Suriya, Madhavan, and Siddharth played major lead characters in the film and the rest of the cast included Meera Jasmine, Esha Deol, Trisha Krishnan, Bharathiraja, and Karthi.
On the other hand, Meera Jasmine made her grand second innings in the Malayalam film industry with the Sathyan Anthikad’s family drama ‘Makal’ which had the actors Jayaram, Naslen K Gafoor, Siddique, Sreenivasan, and Innocent in significant roles.
