Meenakshi Dinesh plays a college student in Mission C

Newbie Meenakshi Dinesh, who debuted in Malayalam playing Nyla Usha’s younger role in Joshiy film

, is the leading lady in the upcoming Vinod Guruvayoor film Mission C.

The youngster, who is a visual communication student in Mangalore and also a trained kuchipudi dancer, tells us about her character. “I play Naina, who is a college student. The movie’s story has a trip that a couple of students undertake. I shot for it completely in Idukki. As all of us were students shooting together for the sequence, so it was a lot of fun.” How did she land the role in the film? “Mission C’s director Vinod sir and Joshiy sir are friends. Joshiy sir is the one who alerted me on this opportunity and when he asks you to do a project, there is no turning back. That’s how I was roped into Mission C,” says Meenakshi.

She ventured into the industry a few years ago out of the blue, through a music album named Kaumaram, with National Award winner actress Surabhi Lakshmi, says Meenakshi. “I’m from Kannur and I met her during an ad shoot for Kannur airport that happened in my locality. We became good friends at that time. When she asked whether I would be interested in acting, I immediately said yes. Those who had worked in the project showed my photos to Joshiy sir for Porinju Mariam Jose’s character, and eventually Mission C also happened,” she recalls.

Meenakshi has also worked in Jiju Ashokan’s upcoming film Pulli. “We finished the film’s shoot in April in Thrissur,” says the actress, though she is tight-lipped about her character in the film.
