This year has not been a good one so far for Mythili, as far as box office records are concerned. However, the actress has no plans to take on every film that comes her way, and says she is happy with her career so far. “My role in
Ee Adutha Kalathu was entirely different from my character in
Salt N’ Pepper. The same goes for
Poppins and my upcoming films.
I would sign for a film only if I get a good role. I don’t mind waiting for them in the future either; I’m in no hurry to reach anywhere,” she says.
She has a handful of meaty roles in the offing, in Shambhu Purushothaman’s
Vedivazhipadu, V K Prakash’s
Mazhaneerthullikal, Vasudev Sanil’s
Red, and Subil Surendran’s
Ente Sathyanweshana Pareekshanangal.
“
Mazhaneerthullikalis set in an earlier age, in an old tharavadu. The look and mannerisms of my character, Durga, corresponds to it. Like the name suggests, rain plays an important part in it. The film features some spectacular nature and monsoon shots,” says Mythili.
She plays a writer in Red, where she will be sharing screenspace with Fahadh Faasil for the first time. The actress was recently in the news for shooting a risky accident scene for the film without a body double. “I’m not allowed to reveal much, except that I play a writer, a close friend of Fahadh, who is a widower with a child,” she says. The shoot for
Ente Satyanweshana Pareekshanangal, which she describes as a “beautiful film”, is almost over.
And what else is going on in her life? Is marriage in the horizon? “Right now, I’m not thinking about marriage at all, there is so much more left for me to do before marriage. Friends, films and travelling are on top of my priority list now.”
Mythili says she was in a relationship years back, but finds happier being single. “There is much more to life than relationships and marriage. I don’t believe that you need to be in a relationship to be happy,” she signs off.
