Maria John heads to Kollywood

Model-turned-actress Maria John���s Mollywood debut in Shalil Kallur���s Dolls was marred by controversy. The actress had to opt out of the project following a tiff with the director. Now, we hear that Maria is all set to make her debut in Kollywood in Dwarak���s debut flick. Tentatively titled Chennai Super Kings (Chennai Singha Kutty), the movie is based on cricket.
Maria plays the role of a Gujarati girl in the flick. ���My character is a Gujarati settled in Chennai. Three men, who are from the same cricket team, are in love with the girl. Though she is engaged to one of them, she falls in love with a Tamilian, who happens to be an irresponsible person. Ultimately, the team splits because of the girl. The climax is based on the result of their final game,��� she says.
Maria plays the love interest of Nischala Krishnan (of Mela Thalam fame). About her tryst with the Tamil language, Maria says, ���The crew members are helping me by translating Tamil dialogues into English. I pick up the meaning of a few lines and manage to mug up the rest.���
