Anticipation for the sequel to Amal Neerad's acclaimed 'Big B,' tentatively titled 'Bilal,' has been awaited among movie enthusiasts.
Recently, in an interview, actor Manoj K Jayan, a pivotal figure in the first installment, shed light on the film's stalled progress, citing the unforeseen disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Kerala.
He expressed how the initial phases of shooting for 'Bilal' were meticulously planned, with the entire team geared up to commence filming just days before the first wave of COVID hit Kerala. However, the sudden onset of the pandemic stopped the project's momentum, abruptly halting the proceedings. He elaborated, "We were on the brink of commencing 'Bilal.' Everyone was geared up for the shoot, and my dates were scheduled for about 18 to 20 days. But then, the COVID outbreak hit, and everything came to a standstill, leading to the cancellation of the planned shoots."
Detailing further, Manoj K Jayan emphasized that even in March, plans were in place for 'Bilal's shoot, only to be affected by the pandemic, disrupting all progress.
Despite the eager anticipation among audiences, director Amal Neerad or Mammootty hasn't released any recent updates regarding 'Bilal.' The duo recently collaborated on the gangster drama 'Bheeshma Parvam,' which turned out to be an all time blockbuster.
