Manjulika teams up with Mammootty

It was in 2008 that Manjulika Benjamin debuted in Malayalam, in the Mammootty-starrer Roudram by Renji Panicker.The actress, who played the megastar's wife in the movie, is back in the industry after eight years. She plays a prominent role in the upcoming movie White, with Mammootty as lead, directed by Udhay Ananthan. Manjulika says, 'After Roudram, I acted in two Telugu movies but did not feel like continuing in the film field. I shifted from Kochi to Chennai and have been living there ever since.' She says she can't talk much about her character in her comeback movie, but adds it's a good role and a wonderful team to make a re-entry with. 'I did not miss the life of an actress while away, but have been thinking seriously about making myself busy in Mollywood after moving to Kochi.' She adds, 'When this character came my way, that too with a chance to act alongside Mammootty, I didn't feel like giving it a miss. It was nice talking to Mammootty after a long time and I was excited about making a re-entry with an actor of his stature. Nevertheless, I am getting jitters again, like in the past, whenever I think of working alongside one of the top stars of the country.' Huma Qureshi plays the female lead in White, which is a love story scripted by Nandini Valsan and Praveen Balakrishnan.
