Manju Warrier's touching tribute to Rabiya Begum

Actor Manju Warrier paid the sweetest tribute to actor, singer and Akashvani artiste of six and a half decades, Rabiya Begum. Apparently, the older lady had rushed to meet Manju at a programme in Kozhikode in 2017. Manju had not known who she was.
But in fact, Rabiya Begum had quiet a legendary artistic past. In her youth, she had acted in a Vaikom Muhammad Basheer play, directed by KT Muhammed with KP Ummer playing her co-lead.The story is that director Ramu Kariat had approached her to play the lead in ‘Chemmen’, but she had been too shy to take up the offer.
Manju reminisced about Rabiya Begum’s warm embraces whenever they met and said that when such people pass, their warm memories remain.
