Now, woman in Malayalam industry can walk freely and work peacefully! All thanks to the first ever women collective in Indian Cinema, and Mollywood can take all credits with pride. With this move, women, whose minds are plagued with worries, can air their concerns to the association that will solely function for their benefit.

The association named,

Women Collective in Cinema

will work for equal opportunity and dignity of women employees in the industry. Film editor Beena Paul, Manju Warrier, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Anjali Menon, Rima Kallingal, Sajitha Madathil, Vidhu Vincent and

Deedi Damodaran

will head the collective.

“The movement is a result of the discussions that has been happening among the women in M-town over the past two months. We wanted to address the gender issues within the industry which include lack of security, basic facilities and women participation,” says Beena Paul.

The team met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Trivandrum today seeking support for the movement.
