Manianpillai Raju's son Niranj is making his M'wood debut through R Ranjith's directorial debut, 'Black Butterfly'. 'The story is about love in the time of social networking sites and mobile phones, how it has changed from what it used to be,' says the director. 'There are two couples in the film, two plus-two students for whom love is a frivolous thing.
In contrast, there is another couple, a petrol pump worker and a sales girl, who are more sincere in their love,' says the director.
Niranj, an undergraduate student, plays the plus-two student in the film. 'Niranj has not acted in films prior to this, but he is doing well,' says the director. The four youngsters in Black Butterfly are newcomers ' the others being Mithun, Malavika and Sanskrithi.
Director Ranjith has also produced films before, some of them being,
Elsamma Enna Aankutty and
Make-up Man. Incidentally, Manianpillai Raju is the producer of
Black Butterfly.
