Mandaram movie review highlights: A first half with a tale of yet another confused lover boy

is yet another romcom, telling the story of Rajesh (Asif Ali)'s trysts with love from childhood onwards. After his school sweetheart betrays him, Rajesh goes on self imposed singlehood until he meets Charu at the age of 22, who he cannot resist. However, as the first half ends, it is revealed that Charu has a boyfriend and Rajesh is left broken hearted, yet again. Mandaram seems like old wine in new bottles, instead of a village, its an engineering college in Bengaluru, while the heroine is a modern young girl, played by Varsha Bollamma. Asif Ali's act as the confused loverboy offere nothing new, though his group of friends played by Jacob Gregory and others offer a much needed comic relief.
