phase, for the very fact that I am hale and hearty now,” says the actress. “I would attribute the longevity of my career to two things. One is not having easy or early success; I didn’t have any hits in the beginning. The other was my constant and rather consistent intervals from the industry due to my own personal reasons. I think that’s what has kept me wanting more and kept the industry wanting more of me, I guess.”

. Talking about her latest venture, she says, “Right now, digital media is also opening up and giving artistes a lot of freedom for the first time. We are in an extremely exciting transition phase in cinema and how people consume content.”

Ask her if she would back a film next and she says, “We were planning a movie first. The pre-production was supposed to begin in March and the film was to go on floors in May but we had the pandemic interfere with it. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because if we had begun the pre-production, we wouldn’t have been able to see through the lockdown. So, we have decided to shelve the project for now as it wouldn’t be practical to do that movie right now with all the restrictions in place.”
