When we contacted the director, he said, “Mamta plays a smart, young and lively doctor named Jayashree, and Asha’s character is named Nandini, a homemaker, who was previously a bank clerk. Mammootty plays an ordinary businessman named Venu, whose prototypes can be all around us.” Interestingly, Mammootty has never played a character named Venu before. “He told me that he has had many roles named Raman, Madhavan and so on, but Venu is a first.”
The shoot will start in Thrissur in August, and Irinjalakuda will be the main location. Previously, the director had clarified that there is no Thrissur slang in the film, and the place was chosen as it is a convenient location. “It is a story that can happen anywhere,” says Ranjith and adds, “I discussed Varsham with Mammootty first in December last year. We decided to make it instantly. Later, we decided to produce it as well. I am pretty sure that I will cherish making this film with him. I also hope to come out as a much refined human being after spending more time with him,” says the director.
