Mammootty’s ‘Turbo’ gears up for grand release, surpasses Rs 3 crore in pre-sales

The highly anticipated action film ‘Turbo,’ featuring superstar Mammootty and directed by Vysakh, has made its grand entry in theatres on this day (May 23).

The film has already made significant waves, accumulating over Rs 3.25 crore in pre-sales, according to the Sacnilk website. This impressive figure positions ‘Turbo’ among the top contenders in the pre-sale earnings race, closely chasing behind notable films like Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘King of Kotha’ and Prithviraj’s ‘Aadujeevitham.’

With a whopping 1,524 shows and an attendance of 2,08,148, ‘Turbo’ has achieved a 47% occupancy rate in its pre-sales phase, indicating strong audience interest and anticipation. This level of excitement suggests that the movie is set for a remarkable opening, potentially setting new records at the box office.

‘Turbo’ is described as a mass entertainer, promising high-octane action and a gripping storyline. Mammootty, who has already tasted success earlier this year with the horror thriller ‘Bramayugam,’ plays the titular character, Turbo Jose. The film also marks the Mollywood debuts of Raj B. Shetty and Sunil, with Anjana Jayaprakash playing a significant role.

The plot centers around Turbo Jose, a Jeep driver from Idukki, who finds himself in hot water, leading to his relocation to Chennai. In Chennai, Jose becomes entangled with Indhulekha and his brother Jerry, only to face unexpected twists involving Vetrivel Shanmugha Sundaram and others.
