As the highly anticipated horror drama film 'Bramayugam,' featuring Mammootty and directed by Rahul Sadasivan, gears up for its release on February 15, the movie has kicked off its UK advance sales on an exceptionally positive note.
According to insights shared on the Movie Planet Twitter forum, 'Bramayugam' has recorded a stellar start in the UK, with an impressive total of 1,355 tickets sold across 53 locations and 72 shows. The approximate gross from these advance sales is 8000 pounds.
Helmed by Rahul Sadasivan, the narrative of 'Bramayugam' unfolds in the ancient backdrop of Kerala, where the realms of Tantra and Maya were a part of everyday life. The story follows Thevan, portrayed by Arjun Ashokan, a folklore singer belonging to the Paanan caste. This lower caste's occupation involves singing hymns of praise about gods and rulers. Thevan's life takes an unexpected turn when he inadvertently discovers a mysterious tradition.
The film, shot in black and white, showcases Mammootty in the role of the antagonist, adding an intriguing layer to the horror narrative. Alongside Mammootty, the cast includes Arjun Ashokan, Siddharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz, each contributing to the movie's promising ensemble.
On the other hand, Mammootty's previous outing was with the crime drama film 'Kannur Squad.'
