Mammootty’s Ameer to go on floors in June

Post his brilliant performance in Peranbu, Mammootty has been busy with mass entertainers. While he has recently finished shooting for Vysakh’s

MaduraRaja

, the actor has another action thriller on the cards with Vinod Vijayan’s Ameer.

The movie, which will have Mammootty playing an underworld don based in Dubai, is scripted by The Great Father and Abrahaminte Santhathikal scribe Haneef Adeni, who had recently helmed Nivin Pauly’s Mikhael.

Mammootty, meanwhile, will soon join the sets of

Maamaankam

. The period film chronicles the journey of the legendary chaaverukal of Valluvanadu in the 17th century and is touted to be a war film.
