Megastar Mammootty has turned 70 today. Mammootty who stepped into the world of cinema as a teenager has been entertaining the audience for over five decades now, Beginning his career as a junior artist in 1971 with ‘Anubhavangal Paalichakal’, Mammootty has completed 50 years in cinema, and during this time span, he has been part of some exceptional films. The 1996 Kamal’s directorial ‘Azhakiya Ravanan’ featured Mammootty in quite an unusual avatar. Mammootty roped in as Kuttishankaran aka Shankar Das. Shankar is a perfect representation of rag to riches but has all the nuances of a villager, loves to boast and his only aim is to win back his childhood crush. ‘Vennilachandhana Kinnam’ portrays the love Shankar has for his Anuradha (Bhanupriya). This melody was penned by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri and Vidyasagar composed it. KJ Yesudas and Shabnam crooned the lovely song. The melody is sure to melt your heart.
