: The King of Travancore and Dharma Raja, which will go on floors by August 2018. He says he hopes to start shooting the sequel of CBI Sethuramaiyer in the meantime.
“I am ready, we have already locked in a script by S N Swamy, the producers are confirmed and everything else is in place. But we are all waiting for Mammootty’s nod. We can’t go ahead without him,” says the director.
He also says that he’s “against the idea of someone else doing the remake” of his movies. “Another director had done the remake of Irupatham Noottandu and it didn’t fare well at all,” he says, referring to

On his upcoming big budget films, the director tells us, “We have fixed the hero of the film on Marthanda Varma and are now in talks for the second film’s hero. Once that is confirmed, both the actors and the producers will make the announcement through social media or a press meet.”
Lately, a lot of big budget films are being announced in Malayalam but are yet to take off. Madhu acknowledges the trend, however, he says, “I have been in the industry for 38 years. I am not doing this for publicity. I have wanted to make a big movie for long and have been researching the subjects for the past four years. I announced the films only after getting the confirmation from all the technicians involved.”
