Mammootty on ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ re-release: It was PV Gangadharan’s long-awaited dream

“Chanthuvine Tholppikkan aavilla makkale,” nobody will be able to forget this iconic dialogue from the epic period film ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’, Movie buffs can rejoice as the Mammootty starrer is all set for a re-release in 4K Atmos version.

Mammootty shared the special teaser for the film and in a video released by the makers, the actor said that the producer PV Gangadharan always wanted the movie to be shown in a 4k version to the audiences.

In the video, Mammootty said, “Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha is a milestone for the Malayalam film industry and even in my career. Scripted by MT Vasudevan Nair and directed by Hariharan sir, the movie is getting re-released in 4K Atmos version. This was a long-awaited dream of PV Ji (PV Gangadharan) and finally, through his kids, his dream has come true.” Mammootty later unveiled the re-release trailer for the film.

Mammootty also said in the video that he and the producer PV Gangadharan had talked earlier regarding the re-release of ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’, but due to some reasons, it didn’t happen as planned.

Directed by Hariharan, ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ surely takes the lead when it comes to the best Malayalam periodic movies and MT Vasudevan Nair’s brilliant script gave another perspective to the myth regarding Chandu aka Chathiyan Chandu. The movie hit the big screens on April 14 and also had the actors Suresh Gopi, Chitra, Vineeth Kumar, Geetha, Jomol, and many others in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, Mammootty and Ranjith’s drama thriller film ‘Paleri Manikyam’ was re-released recently.
