Mammootty, Mohanlal, and other M-Town celebs mourn the demise of football legend Diego Maradona

Iconic footballer Diego Maradona has passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Wednesday. He was 60. The news of the untimely demise of the legendary footballer who had led Argentina to victory in the 1986 World Cup, has come as a shock to the entire world. His death came soon after he had a successful surgery on a brain blood clot earlier this month.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep condolences on Diego Maradona’s demise.“Diego Maradona was a maestro of football, who enjoyed global popularity. Throughout his career, he gave us some of the best sporting moments on the football field. His untimely demise has saddened us all. May his soul rest in peace,” the PM tweeted.

Pinarayi Vijayan, the Kerala CM also mourned the demise of the legendary footballer. “Deeply saddened to learn of the passing away of Diego Armando Maradona. The Argentinian footballer was one of the greatest athletes of all time. Our deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and his fans around the world. We all will miss him, the beautiful game will miss him,” the CM tweeted.

Most of the Mollywood celebrities were heartbroken to hear the depressing news.
Megastar Mammootty shared that a true icon has passed away. "Diego Maradona. A true icon, a legend of the game. RIP," Mammootty wrote in his Facebook post.

Mohanlal referred to late Diego Maradona as ‘legend’. “Rest in Peace Legend #diegomaradona #Legend,” Mohanlal said in his tweet.

Mollywood’s lady superstar Manju Warrier was devastated hearing Maradona’s demise. “Heart is empty as an empty ball... Dear Diego ... Goodbye! #RIP#diegomaradona,” Manju Warrier tweeted.

“Farewell legend. #DiegoMaradona RIP! ,” Prithviraj Sukumaran said in his social media poster.

Actress Parvathy Thiruvothu chose to celebrate the legendary footballer’s life rather than mourning. “Timeless. Inspirational. Legendary. What a life lived 🤍 #Maradona,” she said in her Facebook post.

Popular filmmaker Priyadarshan also expressed condolences on Diego Maradona’s demise. “Adieu #Maradona,” he said.

“It is because of the name #Maradona that many have started watching football around the world. Very disheartening to hear about his demise. His legacy will live on and keep inspiring young footballers. #RIPMaradona,” Parvati Nair expressed.
