Mammootty joins the 'Madhuraraja' team on the film sets

Mammootty has joined the cast and crew on the sets of 'Madhuraraja', a sequel to the mass entertainer 'Pokkiriraja' in which the megastar plays the lead role of Raja. Hitmaker Vysakh will return to direct this sequel.
The shooting of the Mammootty starrer is progressing at Cherayi beach in Ernakulam. The actor was scheduled to join the sets by August 20, but the state was affected by heavy rains and floods interrupting the shoots of many projects.Mammootty joined several other Malayalam celebrities to promote relief activities in flood-affected areas.
'Pokkiriraja' which released in 2010 had Prithviraj playing a pivotal role along with Mammootty. However, reports suggest that Prithvi won't be a part of the sequel, instead Tamil actor Jay will play a lead role in the upcoming film. Another highlight of this Mammootty starrer is director Vysakh reuniting with scriptwriter Udayakrishna and stunt master Peter Hein after the success of 'Pulimurugan'.
Anusree, Mahima Nambiyar, Shamna Kasim will play female leads in the movie. R K Suresh, Nedumudi Venu, Salim Kumar, Aju Varghese, Dharmajan, Biju Kuttan, Siddique, M R Gopakumar, Bala, Kailash, Nobi, Balachandran Chullikkad will play important roles in the movie along with a glittering cast from the Tamil film industry.
Shaji Kumar will handle cinematography while Gopi Sundar helms the music. The movie will be released in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.
