Mammootty dons the khaki again, for Abrahaminte Santhathikal

Actor Mammootty had a surprise for his fans on his birthday which fell on Thursday.

After portraying the controversial role of the cop CI Rajan Zachariah in

Kasaba

, the actor is all set to take on yet another police role in his next, titled

Abrahaminte Santhathikal

— Oru Police Story.

Directed by debutant Shaji Padoor, the film is scripted by Haneef Adeni, the maker of Mammootty's The Great Father. Divulging more about Abrahaminte Santhathikal, Shaji says, “It will be a stylish thriller and Mammootty will be playing a police officerman. The movie will be an entertainer and can be enjoyed by both his fans and the family audiences of Kerala.”

Mammootty’s police roles have always thrilled the audiences, the most remembered being the ones in Inspector Balram and Raudram. Meanwhile, the director of the upcoming film promises that the actor’s cop role this time will be very different from those he has played so far. “That’s exactly what makes the movie unique,” he adds. The film will go on floors in January 2018 and will be extensively shot in Ernakulam.
