Mammootty and Mohanlal extend birthday wishes for Rajinikanth; “May you continue to inspire millions”

‘Style Mannan’ Rajinikanth has turned 74 today, and both celebs and fans are pouring the ‘Coolie’ actor with special wishes. Mollywood superstar Mammootty shared a throwback snap of them during the shoot for the epic classic film ‘Thalapathi’.

Sharing the throwback BTS picture from Mani Ratnam’s classic film, Mammootty penned a note that read, “Happy Birthday Dear @rajinikanth ,May you continue to inspire millions as you always do in the years to come. Stay Happy and Healthy forever.”


Mammootty’s Tweet was soon flooded with comments from fans. One comment read, “Megastar and Superstar.” Another commented, “Deva & Surya,” referring to the characters they played in the film ‘Thalapathi’. A third comment read, “Iconic Picture. Two Greats.”


For the unversed, Mammootty and Rajinikanth teamed up for Mani Ratnam’s directorial action drama movie ‘Thalapathi’ which was released in the year 1991. The movie’s script was penned by Mani Ratnam himself and the plot is based on the friendship between Karna and Duryodhana, the characters from the epic ‘Mahabharata’. The movie was hailed for its brilliant storytelling, direction, performances, and also the surreal shots by Santosh Sivan. The editing section was handled by Gautham Raju and Suresh Urs.


On the other hand, Mohanlal also shared his heartwarming birthday wishes for the ‘Vettaiyan’ actor. Mohanlal shared a Tweet that read, “Happy Birthday, dear Rajinikanth Sir! Your journey, both on and off the screen, continues to inspire us all. May you be blessed with good health, happiness, and endless moments of joy. Much love and respect.”


Meanwhile, Mohanlal and Rajinikanth teamed up recently for the superhit action-packed entertainer ‘Jailer’ which was directed by Nelson. Even though Mohanlal had only limited screen time in the film, he received much adulation for his stunning performance.
