Mammootty and Mohanlal at Jayaram's Grandfather's pooja function

When Mammootty walked in to the venue of the pooja function for the Jayaram film Grandfather, 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled time, he brought in no air of stardom. He cordially inquired about the arrangements and took an exit. However, the guests in the room were left amazed by his simplicity.


Soon after, they got more reasons to stay wonderstruck. Mohanlal also arrived to join Mammootty at the pooja function, and it was after a long time that the Big Ms came together on the same dais. The film, directed by Aneesh Anwar, got a colourful kick-off as many others from the industry also joined in at the function.


Jayaram, who adorably termed the duo his ‘elder brothers,’ said they happily agreed to attend and bless the ceremony, when he extended the request. “In the past 30 years of my career, I have been part of many movies and poojas, but this occasion is really a dream come true. The two veterans of the industry, whom I admire and respect came together to support me like they always have. I can’t thank them enough for agreeing to it, the moment they got my text message,” said Jayaram.

Mammootty, who said it’s a golden moment, added, “This is for the first time that I am at a pooja function that’s so packed with people. Usually, only the crew members of the film make it to such events, but here, I can see almost the whole industry. That’s rare, yet wonderful.” Mohanlal, alongside expressing his gratitude for the invite, said, “Let this be a great start for this project.” For the first time in his career, Jayaram plays the role of a grandpa in the movie.

Directors Arun Gopy and Ramesh Pisharody, actors Samyuktha Menon, Mythili, Asha Aravind, Rachana Narayanankutty, Honey Rose, Vijayaraghavan, Baburaj and Dharmajan Bolgatty were a few spotted at the do.
