Popular Malayalam film producer cum businessman Achani Ravi, whose real name was K Ravindranathan Nair, passed away on Saturday (July 8) at the age of 90. He entered the film industry as a producer with his debut film titled "Anweshichu Kandethiyilla." Achani Ravi is survived by his children Preetha, Prakash Nair, and Pratap Nair.

Following the immense success of his film "Achani," he earned the nickname 'Achani Ravi' and went on to construct the Kollam Public Library and Sopanam Auditorium as a tribute to the film's popularity.

Achani Ravi’s wife, who was a playback singer has crooned her voice for the superhit songs in the films ‘Thampu’ and ‘Aambal Poovu’

Achani Ravi's impact on the film industry goes beyond his role as a producer, with a remarkable tally of 14 movies to his name. He even ventured into acting, taking on a notable role in the film "Esthappan," directed by G. Aravindan. In recognition of his contributions, he has been honored with numerous accolades, including an impressive count of 20 national awards.

In addition to his creative endeavors, Ravi actively participated in the industry's governance and development. He served as a valuable member of esteemed organizations such as the National Film Awards Committee, the Central Board of Film Certification, and the Film Development Corporation, showcasing his commitment to the growth and regulation of the film sector.
