Malayalam director Kamal’s brother Abdul Nazer passes away

Renowned Malayalam director Kamal’s brother Eriyadu Kandakathu Abdul Nazer breathed his last on Saturday (July 2nd). Nazer was 60. Kamal’s brother was residing in Aluva, Kochi.

Kamal’s brother Abdul Nazer was also a retired deputy registrar in CUSAT. He is survived by his wife Nadheera who is a practitioner at the health department and his son Dilash. Kamal also has another brother named Shanavaaz.
Kamal, being a renowned filmmaker in Malayalam, was also a former chairman of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Making his directorial debut with the film ‘Mizhineerppoovukal’ which was released in the year 1986, Kamal has gifted several memorable characters to the Malayalam film industry through his famous works.

Kamal has also bagged National and Kerala state film awards for his movies ‘Ulladakkam’, ‘Meghamalhar’, ‘Nammal’, ‘Celluloid’, ‘Madhuranombarakkattu’, ‘Niram’, ‘Mazhayethum Munpe’, and ‘Karutha Pakshikal’.

Kamal teamed up with the lady superstar Manju Warrier for the biographical drama movie named ‘Aami’ and the film clicked with the audience for its realistic execution style and for the magnificent performance of Manju Warrier.
Kamal’s previous outing was with the Vinayakan starrer ‘Pranaya Meenukalude Kadal’ which received much adulation from the audience. The film which was released in the year 2019 told the story of Ajmal who is tasked with repairing a boat and falls in love with the boat owner’s daughter Jasmine. The film touted as a romantic drama had the script penned down by the late writer John Paul. Actors Dileesh Pothan, Vinayakan, Gabri Jose, Saiju Kurup, Joe John and several others played prominent roles in the film.
