Well-known music composer, Rajamani passed away on Sunday (February 14) night at a private hospital in Chennai due to health issues. He was 60. He was associated with almost 700 films.

Well-known music composer, Rajamani passed away on Sunday (February 14) night at a private hospital in Chennai due to health issues. He was 60. He was associated with almost 700 films.
Rajamani made his debut in the 1985 movie, 'Nulli Novikkathe'. He is also known for remixing the theme for the third and fourth instalments of the 'CBI' series. He also had a major acting stint in the movie 'Gulmohar'.

His last film in Malayalam was 'Hide And Seek'. His contribution to music in cinema also spans other languages such as Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Tulu, Oriya and Urdu.
Rajamani won the State Award for his background music in the film 'Aram Thampuran' and Film Critics Award for movies 'Nandanam' and 'Shantham'. He is also a recipient of three international awards for his background score in the movie, 'The Laughing Buddha'. Unlike his contemporaries, his interest lied more in composing background score for movies.
Son of the veteran music director BA Chidambaranath, he is survived by his wife Beena and sons Aditya Rajamani, a lawyer, and Achu Rajaman, a musician.
