The Kerala Film Producers’ Association has recently released the financial report detailing the budgets and theater collections of Malayalam films released in February.
According to the News 18 report, out of 17 films released that month, 11 suffered losses. One of the most striking figures is for the film ‘Love Dale’, which had a production budget of Rs 1.6 crore but managed to collect only ₹10,000 from theaters.
Financial Overview of February Releases (as per Kerala Film Producers’ Association) :
- Total production cost of 17 films: Rs 75 crore (Rs 75,23,86,049)
- Total theater share earned: Rs 23 crore (Rs 23,55,88,147)
- Total loss incurred in February alone: Approximately Rs 53 crore
This is the second time the association has publicly disclosed the budget and revenue figures of Malayalam films. Previously, they had revealed the financial details of 28 films released in January, which collectively suffered a loss of ₹110 crore.

- Bromance – Budget: Rs 8 crore, Theater Share: Rs 4 crore
- David – Budget: Rs 9 crore, Theater Share: Rs 3.5 crore
- Painkili – Budget: Rs 5 crore, Theater Share: Rs 2.5 crore
- Officer on Duty – Budget: Rs 13 crore, Theater Share: Rs 11 crore
- Chattuli – Budget: Rs 3.40 crore, Theater Share: Rs 32 lakh
- Get Set Baby – Budget: Rs 9.99 crore, Theater Share: Rs 1.40 crore

- Urul – Budget: Rs 25 lakh, Theater Share: Rs 1 lakh
