The Malayalam Cinema seems to have regained its momentum, in the week that followed Onam. Many filmmakers announced their interesting upcoming projects and a few stars including Mammootty were celebrating their birthdays. If you missed out any, here’s a quick recap of what made headlines in Malayalam Cinema this week. Aishwarya Lekshmi in ‘Archana 31 Not Out’ Aishwarya Lekshmi turned 29 this week and her much-awaited Martin Prakat movie was announced as birthday surprise. Titled ‘Archana 31 Not Out’, the movie is produced by popular filmmaker Martin Prakkat. The movie is helmed by debutant director Akhil Anilkumar. Speaking to us, the director confirmed that it is a female-oriented comedy movie that revolves around a wedding. Aishwarya plays the titular Archana, who is a primary school teacher and has gone through 31 wedding proposals, but not a single one fell into place.

Mammootty, Manju Warrier, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Samyuktha Menon and many other stars celebrated their birthdays Seems like some of the most talented actors in Malayalam cinema were born in September! Megastar Mammootty turned 69 this week and glimpses of his birthday bash made headlines. Manju Warrier turned 42 this week. Young actors Aishwarya Lekshmi, Samyuktha Menon, Aparna Balamurali, and Anaswara Rajan also turned a year older this week!Dhyan Sreenivasan in ‘Kadavul Sakayam Natanasabha’Dhyan Sreenivasan’s next is titled as ‘Kadavul Sakaayam Natana Sabha’. The movie is directed by debutant Jithu Vayalil. Bipin Chandran, who has crafted scripts for movies ‘Best Actor’, ‘1983’, and ‘Paavada’ has roped in as the scenarist. The movie is produced by Rajissri Films. Dhyan will be essaying Sathyaneshan Nadar, a detective in the movie. Abhinand Ramanujan will be cranking the lens and Sam C S is handling the music department. Praveen Prabhakar has roped in as editor. Dileep in Khalasi Mollywood actor Dileep will be next seen in 'Khalasi'. The movie is helmed by debutant Mithlaj. Gokulam Gopalan of Sree Gokulam Movies is backing the project. Anuroop Koylandi, Satheesh, and Mithlaj are jointly crafting the screenplay. “Happy to announce our new movie, to be directed by Mithilaj and produced by Gokulam Gopalettan,” Dileep wrote, announcing the movie.
