"Please stop spreading false information. The video clip currently circulating is just a small part of an interview, and many people haven't watched the entire interview or understood the real incident. The experience I shared happened 10 years ago, long before I entered the film industry, and it involved individuals who were not related to cinema, conducting a fake audition for financial gain,” Malavika Sreenath said in her note.

She also denied any link between her casting couch ordeal and the Hema committee report. “My video has no connection with the current issues being discussed. I request everyone to stop sharing the clip for attention and to stop spreading fake news. I have no role in the ongoing issues,” she said.

In a previous interview, Malavika revealed that she encountered a casting couch incident after responding to a casting call that claimed they were auditioning for a role in a Manju Warrier film. Accompanied by her mother and younger sister, Malavika attended the audition, where a team member directed her to fix her hair and led her to a dressing room. Upon entering, another individual approached her, demanded sexual favors, and grabbed her. Malavika quickly escaped from the situation.

Meanwhile, the Justice Hema Committee report, which exposed the shocking harassment and sexual exploitation faced by women in the Malayalam film industry, has sparked a storm in Kerala.
