Ace actor Mala Aravind, whose pitch perfect portrayal of slapstick comedy, passed away at a private hospital in Coimbatore on Wednesday The 76-year-old was undergoing treatment at the hospital after he suffered a massive heart attack a week ago. Before making his film debut with Sindhooram (1968) , Aravindan started his career as a Tabla artist; later the actor had etched a special place for himself in the Malayalam theatre arena.
He has been an integral part of the tinsel town with more than 400 films to his credit. He was the president of the AMMA, the association of Malayalam film artistes.
Aravindan is survived by wife Geetha and two Children, Muthu and Kala.
