Makers of ‘Neelavelicham’ launch a poster featuring Roshan Mathew on Kerala Piravi 2022

Malayalis are commemorating the 66th year of the formation of the state of Kerala - Kerala Piravi, and on the special occasion, actor Roshan Mathew treated netizens with a new poster from his upcoming film ‘Neelavelicham’. In the poster, Roshan Mathew is seen clad in a white dhoti and vest, accessorized with glasses, indulging in a cup of black coffee, and almost lost in thoughts.
Quoting Vaikom Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s on who’s eponymous story, the film is based on, Rohsan Mathew extended wishes on Kerala Piravi. “"ദാ പുതിയ സൂര്യോദയം. ഉണരുക; പ്രവർത്തിക്കുക; മുന്നോട്ടുപോകുക. ജീവിതം സുന്ദരമാക്കുക, ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുക" - വൈക്കം മുഹമ്മദ് ബഷീർ കേരളപ്പിറവി ആശംസകൾ !! #NeelavelichamMovie #OPMCinemas Happy Keralapiravi from Neelavelicham :)” he penned.

Directed by Aashiq Abu, ‘Neelavelicham’ is an upcoming horror thriller, based on the eponymous short story by prolific writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. Tovino Thomas, Rima Kallingal, Roshan Mathew, and Shine Tom Chacko have roped in to play the lead role in the film.
Interestingly, Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s story ‘Neelavelicham’ was previously adapted to the screen in 1964. The film titled ‘Bhargavi Nilayam’ was directed by A Vincent, and it featured Madhu, Vijaya Nirmala, and Prem Nazir in lead roles.

On the technical front, Girish Gangadharan is the director of photography, and Saiju Sreedharan is the editor. Bijibal and Rex Vijayan will be composing music for the movie. Jothish Shankar is the production designer, and Sameera Saneesh is in charge of the costumes. The film will be releasing in December this year, however, the makers are yet to finalize the release date.
