M-Town’s charming young star Unni Mukundan is celebrating his birthday today. The dashing actor turned 35, and on the special occasion, the makers of his upcoming film ‘Malikappuram’ launched the first look poster. The first look poster of ‘Malikappuram’ features Unni Mukundan decked up in an all black outfit, walking with two kids. Judging by the poster, the trio seems to be on the Sabarimala pilgrimage.

​Happy Birthday Unni Mukundan: Most awaited upcoming films of the actor

One of the popular young actors in M-town, Unni Mukundan made his debut in showbiz playing a lovestruck enthusiastic Mano in the Tamil film ‘Seedan’ in 2011. But it was his 2012 release ‘Mallu Singh’ that gave him a big break in his career. There was no looking back for the charmer ever since then. Unni Mukundan has completed a decade in cinema now, and he has made his mark in several other fields in cinema, including production and playback singing.

Unni Mukundan is celebrating his birthday today, and on this occasion, let’s take a look at some of his most awaited upcoming films.

Unni Mukundan is teaming up with debutant Anup Pandalam, for the upcoming film. ‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’ is touted to be a family entertainer, and Unni Mukundan will be playing the role of Shefeek, who is a Dubai returnee. Shefeek finds happiness in helping others, and the song from the film have already created a buzz. Unni Mukundan is also writing the lyrics and singing a song for the film.

Unni Mukundan is headlining an upcoming film titled ‘Malikappuram’, which as the title implies reportedly revolves around a female devotee of Lord Ayyappa. The film is helmed by debutant Vishnu Sai Sankar. Abhilash Pillai is scripting ‘Malikappuram’ and it has an ensemble cast of Saiju Kurup, Indrans, Manoj K Jayan, Ramesh Pisharody, Sampath Ram, Devanandha, and Sreepath. The shooting of the film is progressing.

Unni Mukundan is joining hands with Vysakh, once again after ‘Mallu Singh’. The duo has announced ‘Bruce Lee’, which is an action entertainer, featuring Unni Mukundan in the lead role. The film is scripted by Udaykrishna and is also said to be mounted on a massive budget. ‘Bruce Lee’ is one of the most anticipated projects of the actor.

Unni Mukundan has a decent fanbase outside Kerala as well. The actor has roped in to play a pivotal role in the upcoming Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer ‘Yashoda’. Speaking exclusively to ETimes earlier, Unni Mukundan said, “It is a very meaty role for me as well, and I really hope that it satisfies the audience.” Speaking about his experience working with Samantha, he said, “Samantha is extremely hardworking. She had a lot of action sequences in ‘Yashoda’, and they weren’t easy. When you do a certain kind of action, it does take a toll on you. But she was very committed and I saw it in person.”

Unni Mukundan is headlining ‘Mindiyum Paranjum’ along with National Award-winning actress Aparna Balamurali. Arun Bose is directing the upcoming romantic film. Speaking to Kochi Times, the co-writer Mridul George said, “It is about how the relationship develops between a young couple and how they grow in their marriage. It looks at them through different phases in their young lives. The film has an atmospheric quality with the monsoon, region, and people. It is set in Idukki and there is a bit of travel in the story.”

On the technical front, the cinematography of 'Malikappuram' is handled by Vishnu Narayanan. Ranjin Raj is composing the music and background score, and the lyrics are penned by Santhosh Varma and BK Harinarayanan.

Meanwhile, the members of the Pandalam royal family had recently paid a visit to the sets of ‘Malikappuram’, as the film is said to be revolving around a devotee of Lord Ayyappa.
On the other hand, Unni Mukundan has a handful of exciting films including ‘Bruce Lee’, ‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’, and ‘Yashoda’, in the pipeline.
