Major Ravi drops Kunchacko Boban from his next project?
Filmmaker Major Ravi is every bit the disciplinarian in the film field as he was in the Indian Army.
The Keerthichakra director, who is all for his cast and crew being professional, has apparently dropped Kunchacko Boban from his next project after the actor shifted the dates he had allotted for the movie.
The yet-to-be-titled movie had already gained a lot of attention for being the first film in the country set against the backdrop of the Indian Navy.

While the shoot was initially scheduled to begin by May, the director tells us that Kunchacko kept changing his dates.
“At the time of taking the advance, both he and I had agreed we would start filming by May; but when we were gearing up for the shoot and preparations were in full swing, Kunchacko kept shifting his dates,” says Ravi, adding that it’s tough working with someone who keeps postponing the dates when there are others depending on the actor to progress the film.
The director says he had a discussion with the actor recently. “I told him if this was the case, I didn’t want him in the film. I could choose someone else for the film or shelve it,” he adds. However, Kunchacko, who has been busy with several projects this year, says, “I’m still interested in Major Ravi’s film and I would really like to do it. But there are a few scheduling conflicts due to my forthcoming projects and that’s why I’m still uncertain about the dates.”

He tells us that he’s scheduled to do Rosshan Andrrews’ How Old Are You? and Rajesh Pillai’s Motorcycle Diaries — both of which he had committed earlier — and the schedules of these films could easily run for the most of this year.
While the status of the Navy film is currently uncertain, Ravi tells us he’s also looking at other projects. “I am in discussion for three projects — the Navy film, a Jayaram movie and I’ve bounced one off Prithviraj too. However, I am yet to decide on which one to do first,” he says.
Even in the midst of these casting problems, Ravi’s Mohanlal-starrer Karmayodha is being dubbed into Tamil. However, the director is not happy with the route that took either. “Mohanlal and I were ready to do a proper dubbed version so that emotions in the dialogues were properly reflected as it is a socially-relevant film. But the people behind it were not bothered about those aspects and were more keen on marketing the action sequences in the film,” he says.
