Indrajith Sukumaran’s ‘Maarivillin Gopurangal’ postponed to avoid a clash with big-ticket Vishu releases

Postponed 'Marivillin Gopurangal' for wider reach, avoiding clash with big releases. Director Arun Bose supports industry success, awaiting more theatres in peak Malayalam cinema.

‘Marivillin Gopurangal’ featuring Indrajith Sukumaran, Shruthi Ramachandran, Win C, and Sarjano Khalid in the lead roles, has been postponed yet again. The makers of the film have decided to push the released date, amidst the big ticket release. The new release date will be announced later.
In a note shared on social media, the director Arun Bose said, “It’s a beautiful time for Malayalam cinema.

Since the films that got released in February is still running successfully filling the theatres, since the new releases had already acquired a good number of theatres, since we strongly believe that Marivillin Gopurangal is a celebration and it needs a good number of theatres to reach its audience, we have decided to wait for a few more days.”
The director further added, “Sometimes a wait is sweet too… considering the success of this industry that is providing bread and butter to a large number of people. Malayalam cinema is at it’s peak. Congratulations to all the winners and warm wishes to all the new releases…”

‘Marivillin Gopurangal’ was postponed a few times earlier, due to various reasons. However, the recent postponement might be to avoid a clash with some of the big ticket releases including Pranav Mohanlal-Dhyan Sreenivasan’s ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’, Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Aavesham’, and Unni Mukundan’s ‘Jai Ganesh’ among others.
