Malayalam cinema has won big at the 67th National Film Awards. From Priyadarshan’s directorial ‘Marakkar - Arabikkadalinte Simham’ bagging the award for the best feature film to Girish Gangadharan winning the best cinematography award for ‘Jallikattu’, Malayalam cinema reaped gold at the National Film Awards this year. It is a moment of joy and celebration for Malayalam cinema and the M-Town celebs have now extended their warm wishes to the award winners.

Prithviraj Sukumaran too extended wishes for his colleagues who have won the awards. “Congratulations to all national award winners..and special wishes to everyone who made Malayalam proud

Manju Warrier has been fortunate to be a part of two award-winning movies - ‘Marakkar - Arabikkadalinte Simham’ and ‘Asuran’. Her ‘Asuran’ co-star Dhanush has won the award for best actor. Dhanush shared the best actor award with Manoj Bajpayee. “Happy and proud to have been part of these two beautiful journeys! Congratulations to all of us!” Manju Warrier shared.
Kalyani Priyadarshan, who has been a part of ‘Marakkar - Arabikkadalinte Simham’ was over the moon, as her dad Priyadarshan’s film won the best feature film award and her brother Siddharth Priyadarshan won the award for best special effects. “Soooo soooo proud of my two main men!(Left) Best Special Effects. ‘Marakkar - Arabikkadalinte Simham’ is the best feature film and it also bagged the awards for the best special effects and best costume designing. Siddharth Priyadarshan has won the best special effects award and Sujith Sudhakaran and V Sasi won the best costume designer award.
‘Kalla Nottam’ won the award for Best Malayalam film in the feature film category. Kani Kusruthi starrer ‘Biriyani’ received a special mention at the prestigious award ceremony. Girish Gangadharan was bestowed with the best cinematography award for his work in ‘Jallikattu’. The award for best makeup was given to Ranjith for his work in ‘Helen’. Mathukutty Xavier who delivered ‘Helen’ is the best debut director. Prabha Varma’s ‘Aarodum Parayuka Vaiyya’ from ‘Kolambi’ won the best lyrics award. ‘Oru Pathira Swapnam Pole’ by Sharan Venugopal is the best film in the non-feature category.
