Leona Leshoy has been slowly yet steadily impressing the tinsel world with each of her films. The actress, who recently debuted in Telugu too through the remake of her Malayalam film Ishq – Not a Love Story, will next be playing opposite Anoop Menon’s character in the investigation suspense thriller-cum-family drama 21 Grams. The film, helmed by newbie director
Bibin Krishna, recently wrapped up post-production.
Bibin tells us about Leona’s character, “Her name is Gauri, and she is the wife of crime branch DySP Nanda Kishore, played by Anoop Menon. She also has a daughter. The film will have her from the first shot to the last.” At the same time, there is an interesting aspect about her presence. “She is appearing as part of memories in the story. As the film is also a family drama, her character showcases the emotional side of the tale,” the director hints. Earlier, Bibin had also told us that while Anoop Menon plays a cop, he won’t be appearing in police uniform much.
The director says that the team wrapped up the film fighting the many challenges brought in by the COVID-19 restrictions and the second lockdown. “We could handle the shoots amid the restrictions, but doing the post-production work completely remotely, amid the second lockdown in May, was new. For example, for editing, we used to record the time chord we are working on, on a spreadsheet. I used to send the corrections from my end to the editor, and he would make the required changes from his end and resend it to me. And this continued in the work-from-home-mode, until the studios were open,” he explains.
The film also has
Anu Mohan,
Renji Panicker,
Ranjith and Lena, among others.
