Veteran filmmaker
Lal Jose has confirmed teaming up with
Fahadh Faasil for an upcoming film. In a recent media interaction, director Lal Jose confirmed that he is working on an adaptation of K N Prasanth's novel ‘Ponam’.
The novel is set against the backdrop of dense forests in a fictional village, named Karimbunam, located on the Kerala-Karnataka border. The upcoming film will explore themes of vengeance. Lal Jose confirmed that the film is envisioned on a massive scale and will center around two key characters, one of whom will be portrayed by Fahadh Faasil. Interestingly, the upcoming film will also mark Fahadh Faasil’s second collaboration with Fahadh Faasil after ‘Immanuel’ released in 2013.
Other details regarding the cast and crew are currently unavailable. If reports are to be believed, a major production house will bankroll the upcoming film.
On the work front, Fahadh Faasil was last seen in Amal Neerad's directorial ‘Bougainvillea’. ETimes rated the film 3.5 out of 5, and the review reads, “Bougainvillea, if you watch it without reading Ruthinte Lokam by Laijo Jose, from which it was inspired, can fool you in the first half if you aren't careful. The situation is almost reminiscent of the dialogues Georgekutty taught his children and later almost convinced everyone around about going for 'dhyanam' on a specific date in Jeetu Joseph's 'Drishyam'.

On the other hand, Lal Jose’s recent outing was ‘Solamante Theneechakal’ released in 2022.
