Lal Jose’s directorial ‘Meesa Madhavan’ featuring Dileep in the lead role clocked 20 years on Monday (July 4), and the director has shared some rare pictures taken during the shoot of the film. Featuring Dileep as the titular Madhavan, a local thief, the film is a fan favourite and one of the best comedy entertainers ever made in Malayalam.

‘Meesa Madhavan’ told the story of a local thief named Madhavan (Dileep), who follows certain ‘principles’, and also beloved by many in the village. Madhavan hates Bhageerathan Pillai (Jagathy Sreekumar), from whom he had borrowed some money, pledging property. Madhavan’s romance with Bhageerathan Pillai’s daughter Rukmini (Kavya Madhavan), who also happens to be his childhood sweetheart is one of the other attractions of the film. From hilarious comedies to tuneful songs, ‘Meesa Madhavan’ not only amused the audience in the cinemas, but also became one of the movies, Malayalis have revisited endlessly.
