The upcoming
Asif Ali starrer movie ‘Kunjeldho,’ which was expected to come out in the beginning of the year before getting delayed due to pandemic, gets a ‘U’ certificate from Censor Board.
It was earlier reported that the film is based on a real-life incident. A few of the glimpses from the film which were earlier released on social media show its lead actor Asif Ali as a college student.
We also hear there is also a romance with new leading lady named Niveditha, played by Gopika Udayan.
Asif Ali plays a simple village guy, who overcomes a big problem in his life, in this movie, which has Vineeth Sreenivasan as the creative director, music by Shaan Rahman and cinematography by Swaroop Philip.
A while ago, its director RJ Mathukkutty had told us the film was initially planned as a Valentine’s Day release. Later, the team apparently felt they wanted to fine tune it a bit more and decided on an Easter release, which didn’t happen due to the lockdown.
The director had told us, “Who would have ever imagined such a lockdown? I feel it was good we didn’t release then.” That said, he had added, “Many actors in the film are also debutants and they are also waiting, impatiently might I add, to see when the film will be out.”
He had added, “Generally, films here don’t get much time for post-production works. Kunjeldho is edited by Ranjan Abraham and he always says, th film can be improved based on the time you have. We are happy that we are getting enough and more time for this.”
