, made a mark by essaying the character of Aromal Chekavar in the film. He recently left another impression by taking a bold stand to remove his surname during an event he attended, in the presence of lyricist and poet Kaithapram, who had also done the same much earlier.

Shivajith said that as an artist, it was his desire to be known as someone, without any baggage of caste, which prompted him to make the move. He also added that art has no caste or religion per say, and one, who imbibes the essence of all is a true artist. He concluded that it was Kaithapram’s gesture, which has been a source of inspiration for him to shed the tag of his caste.
