Kottayam Nazeer ventures into direction

Actor and mimicry artiste Kottayam Nazeer, who is also a skilled artist, has tried his hand at another creative venture. A 14-minute short film, ‘

Kuttichan

’, written and directed by Kottayam Nazeer, is the story of two friends told through the memories of one.

The title character of ‘Kuttichan’, whom the viewer does not see and from whose perspective the story unfolds, is old and bedridden. His friend, played by Jaffer Idukki, who is visiting, recounts with fondness and pathos, stories of their bravado – how much they drank but were unshaken, how Kuttichan shot a leopard - to his own and Kuttichan’s daughter-in-law. His visit is followed by that of an old love, played by Parvathy T. The film ends with a voiceover narration by Mohanlal.
