The ‘Kakshi Amminippilla’ director Dinjith Ayyathan has scored high this time with the recently released mystery film ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ which is turning out to be a box office success.
According to the Sacnilk website, the movie which stars Asif Ali in the lead, minted Rs 11.75 crores at the India Net Collections in 7 days.
On day 7 the movie has collected Rs 2.25 crores (early estimates), which is surely impressive. The movie had an overall 59.71 percent Malayalam occupancy on day 7 with 39.12 percent for morning shows, 56.25 percent on afternoon shows, 68.79 percent on evening shows, and night shows with 74.67 percent occupancy. The movie had its highest occupancy in Thrissur with 88.25 percent on day 7 and the lowest was in Hyderabad.
Overall the box office performance of ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is surely impressive and with good reviews flooding in, the collections and the occupancy rates are expected to maintain or increase in the coming days.
Starring Asif Ali, Vijayaraghavan Aparna Balamurali, and Jagadish in the lead, ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is hailed to be one of the unique mystery thrillers in Mollywood. The movie is also getting good responses for its music which was composed by Mujeeb Majeed.
The story of this Asif Ali starrer takes place in a monkeys inhabited Kallepathi reserve forest where an ex-military named Appupilla and his son Ajayachandram who is a forest officer, live. The movie is touted to be a slow-paced thriller packed with an intriguing script penned by Bahul Ramesh and terrific direction from Dinjith Ayyathan.
On the other hand, Asif Ali marked his second win this year with ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ as his early work ‘Thalavan’ also turned out to be a blockbuster.
