Khalid Rahman-directorial Love to be first Indian film in theatres

For the first time in over six months, there is set to be a theatrical release of a Malayalam film.

, which has Shine Tom Chacko and Rajisha Vijayan playing a warring married couple, will release in theatres in the Middle East on October 15. The film’s team announced on social media that the Khalid Rahman directorial will be the first Indian movie to be screened in a theatre since the lockdown was declared.

“My upcoming film Love is all set to release… with all necessary precautions for a safe experience. So catch me in theatres for the experience we’ve all been missing for a while! Stay safe & Loads of Love, always!” Khalid Rahman and producer Ashiq Usman posted on social media.

The gripping trailer was released in late August. Shine is excited about the movie being shown on the big screen. Speaking about the film, he said, “It is about a couple that are not compatible and get into violent arguments. The shoot was done over 23 days, starting in late June and was totally done indoors.” He says the team stayed in the flat at which the shoot was happening. “At first when I was told about it in April, it was intended as a very small film, but them Ashiq Usman said, let’s do it properly and it got into the current form,” says Shine.

The film, co-written by Khalid Rahman and Noufal Abdullah, also features Veena Nandakumar, Sudhhy Koppa, Johny Antony and Gokulam MS. Cinematography is by Jishmi Khalid.
