Kerala State Award 2018: 'Aami' and 'Carbon' to be considered?

As the Kerala State Award 2018 is about to be announced, the officials are in a dilemma whether they could consider the works from the officials for the awards. The Chalachithra Academy officials Kamal and Beena Paul's films, 'Aami' and 'Carbon' to be considered for the film awards are creating a lot of buzz inside and out of the organization. As Kamal is the Chairman and Beena Paul is the vice-chairperson of the Chalachithra Academy, considering their films for the awards was a bit difficult for the officials. Reportedly, Kamal's movie 'Aami,' for which he has done the direction and Beena Paul being the editor of 'Carbon' has been suggested for the awards. According to the dogma, the films from the executive members are not considered for the awards. However, even if the movie is being considered for the awards, they won't be eligible to get an individual award on it. Some reports also suggest that the minister for the Department of Cultural Affairs has asked Kamal to resign his position as the Chairman of Chalachithra Academy, if the film should be considered for awards. The state is also moving to manage this issue, without creating any controversy. As the election is about to come, the state is taking this issue in a very sensitive mode. Reports also suggest that Hariharan, Amol Palekar and K. P. Kumaran are considered for the jury chairman position. As the movies 'Carbon' and 'Aami' are on the good side, the audience are also perplexed about the issue and are keenly waiting for the decision from the state.
