Kavya Madhavan’s father P. Madhavan passes away at 75; funeral to be held in Kochi
Veteran businessman and a pillar of support behind the actress’ career, P. Madhavan breathed his last in Chennai on Monday, June 16.
As reported by On Manorama, Madhavan was 75. A native of Neeleswaram in Kasaragod district, Madhavan was a well-known figure both in his hometown and within the Malayalam film community, fondly remembered as “Madhavettan.”
P. Madhavan is survived by his wife Shyamala, son Mithun (residing in Australia), daughter Kavya, daughter-in-law Ria (Australia), and son-in-law, actor Dileep. Reportedly, the funeral will be held later in Kochi.
Madhavan, a member of the Pallikkara family in Neeleswaram, spent much of his life balancing his business and family life. In his later days, he had been residing in Chennai, where he breathed his last.
Behind Kavya Madhavan’s remarkable journey from school arts festivals to becoming one of South India’s most celebrated actresses was the unwavering support of her father. In the Malayalam film world, Madhavan was affectionately known as “Madhavettan.”
Kavya Madhavan has taken a long break from acting. Her last outing was the Adoor Gopalakrishnan's drama movie 'Pinneyum' where she paired with her husband, actor Dileep. She also played the lead role in the 2016 film 'Akashvani' which received mediocre reviews. The actress has not yet announced any new projects.
Meanwhile, Dileep has marked his massive comeback with the success of the recently released family drama movie 'Prince and Family'. Also starring Dhyan Sreenivasan in a pivotal role, 'Prince and Family' turned out to be a superhit with good reviews especially from the family audiences.
Up next, Dileep has the most awaited film 'Bha. Bha. Ba' in the pipeline. The movie is mounted on a grand scale and reportedly Mohanlal will appear in a cameo role.
